I don't care if Hilary Clinton went to this school, it's terrible. The advisor Amy Allen is so unprofessional. She knew that I was half a credit short my final year and decided to bring it up the last semester of school. I had to go to her office and tell her that I need to fill one of my free studies for a credited class. The staff don't enforce any rules and let students act crazy and bully people. The sociology teacher I had DID NOT TEACH AT ALL! All he did was make us watch Star Wars or videos. He literally did not teach us anything and said, "good luck" on the test. The biology teacher Ms.Lee needs to be replaced. She is horrible at her job and so many students fail her class. Funny how they blame students, when in reality the teacher doesn't know what she's talking about half the time. She's confused herself! Me.Miller is rude and arrogant. If you don't like a movie he likes in film study he will make rude comments making it seem like your ignorant. Why? Because I have a different opinion? I guess what I'm trying to say is teachers that have been here for a while can't get fired and they know that.. So they don't care to teach because they know there won't be any consequences.
This school is an absolute disgrace to modern education. My goal coming into Maine East was to not say anything negative about it (my siblings would always criticize this school) and after three years of going here, I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of quality in education. Keep in mind that I take 4 AP classes along with accelerated and have gotten predominately A's and a few B's. You either have a decent teacher and get an A or get a really crappy teacher and get worse grades for the same work quality. It's really disappointing. Programs such as foreign language combine accelerated with regular in the same classroom making it extremely difficult to even get a passing grade. The mathematics department relies on homeschooling programs such as ALEKS to have students teach THEMSELVES while the teachers get paid our hard earned tax money for watching us do this. Absolutely disgusting. The staff at this school is extremely lazy and simply does not care about your needs. Many teachers don't even know what they're teaching (including AP) and have personal mentors to learn the material right before they lecture it to us. Most students at Maine East are very immature and you will have much trouble finding a quiet place to study. If that's not bad enough, go to the locker rooms at Maine East where you will find AT LEAST two students smoking hookah in the same period. The principle does little to nothing to improve this school. All he does is add more AP classes hoping that the school's rank increases while students like me have to suffer. Did I mention that the average ACT score for Maine East is less than 21? Yes, it's true. Hilariously enough, the school now administers the SAT instead (probably to cover up for its horrible ACT scores). I know things about this school the average student doesn't know and trust me, none of these things are good. Staying at Maine East was the single worst decision I have made in my life. Fortunately, my parents understand just how horrible this school is and plan on sending me to a private school next year. If you're serious about college, do yourself a favor and get a quality education from an actual school, not Maine East.

This is an incredible school! School is what you put into it and Maine East makes sure that you get every opportunity to learn! They give you everything at your finger tips and the support is amazing! I have worked in schools for over 15 years and Maine East's environment is incredible! Every school has good and bad in them, even the $30,000 a year + schools but Maine East's GOOD by far out ways any bad. I love our staff and I love our students! A proud parent of almost three graduates, as my baby is a junior!
